We love Tony Roma’s in Bali and so we were delighted to dine at the Tony Roma’s Universal City Walk on our recent trip to Los Angeles.
Set in the bustling Universal Walk just up from Universal Studios, with the same family friendly vibe it is known for worldwide, we were treated to some fabulous food and fantastic service. All our dishes were selected by the manager on the night Jeivill, who along with our waitress Eunice kept our soda glasses filled.
We started with warm bread accompanied with garlic butter. We could not get enough of it and had to have a second helping. Don’t fill up too much on the bread because the food on offer at Tony Roma’s is so good you will keep going back for more.
Next was the Roma's Sampler platter consisting of Boneless Bites coated in the perfect amount of buffalo spice and complimented well with the blue cheese dressing. Tony Roma’s famous Half Onion Loaf was the centre piece of the sampler plate and was crispy on the outside and accompanied with flavoursome BBQ sauce. The surprise of the night was the Spinach Artichoke Dip oozing with two types of cheese and offered the savour to balance out the corn chips and a spicy salsa dip.

For our mains we became re-acquainted with the famous melt in your mouth fall off the bone Original Baby Back Ribs. These succulent babies are a MUST when dining at Tony Roma’s. The legendary sauce is exactly the same in every Tony Roma’s around the world and makes these ribs oh so moorish. Also on the platter was chicken pieces basted in Tony Roma's Original BBQ sauce which was moist and tender.
Accompanying the ribs and chicken was a huge baked potato (Potato Skins) with sides of bacon sour cream spring onions, corn and coleslaw, giving us the choice of adding the right amount of topping each Travel Buddie desired. There was also a bean dip which had an amazing smokey bacon flavour.
If you know the 4 Travel Buddies then you know we always have room for dessert, and this dessert platter was worth every calorie! The Red Velvet Cake with cream cheese frosting was moist and very difficult to share. The Strawberry Cheesecake was drenched in strawberry sauce for those of you who love the berry flavour and finally the decadent Raspberry Brownie Royal. The chocolate brownie was more like a chocolate cake.
Special shout out to Karon another waitress working on the night who shared a few stories about her trip to Australia and New Zealand.
Once again a fabulous dining experience at Tony Roma’s and we look forward to dining at many more of their locations on our travels.
