If you are after a total relaxation holiday and want to re energise your batteries, then look no further than Mai Samui Beach Resort and Spa, Koh Samui, Thaliand. What we enjoyed most was being tucked away from the hassle and bustle of Natong and Chaweng Beach. This resort is all about sleeping, relaxing by the pool with a book and cocktail in hand or taking a swim.
We loved the idea of the Resort being split by a road going through the centre. The main area houses four restaurants, pool and reception whilst the other half caters mainly to families providing kid pool areas and even a sand pit and toys for the little ones. Even with 97 rooms it truly felt as though we were the only ones there.
We stayed in Pool Access rooms and as the name suggests we had direct assess to the pool. Spacious rooms with a king size bed and spa tub with louvres opening to the most spectacular view over the pool area. As dusk falls on the oasis the mood of colourful lights brightens up the resort. Who doesn't love a turn down service every night with a sweet treat of biscuits and plentiful complimentary supplies including water and toiletries when holidaying.
Indulge and pamper yourself with a massage from Mai Samunprai Spa. You won't be disappointed. You choose whether your massage is soft, medium or firm as you slip away into an oasis with soft music playing and fragrant oils burning.
Like all buffet brekkies they are a novelty the first few days, but you tire of the same dishes after several days. The restaurants offer different settings from casual meals at Beach BBQ Club, Thai style menu at Mai Pub Restaurant and classy dining at the Fine Dining restaurant. The resort offers different nightly buffet and promotion menus including Steak & Seafood Promotion, Pasta and Thai Night buffets, Thai & International buffet, BBQ Seafood buffet and Fresh Seafood Market.
The staff are the most sweetest, friendly and hospitable we have experienced in our travels to date. Staff were very humble and showed a real passion for ensuring their guests stay is both a memorable and enjoyable one. We were blown away staff remembered what rooms we were staying in.
Our only complaint would be the bain Marie's weren't hot enough to keep the food hot; especially at breakfast time. Our late check-out didn't go smoothly although it was sorted out quickly by staff.
